MICK Wadsworth will turn to former loanee James Poole in a bid to strengthen his attacking options this summer.
The 21-year-old striker will be released by Manchester City at the end of the season and Pools are set to make a move.
Both chief scout Peter Eustace and Wadsworth have watched Poole in action since his return from knee-ligament damage last month, most recently during City’s 1-0 reserve-team win over Liverpool at Hyde FC’s Ewen Fields on Monday night.
Poole marked his return from a three-month absence with a goal during a 2-0 second-string victory at Wolves at the beginning of this month, a match taken in by talent-spotter Eustace.
