HARTLEPOOL United boss Ronnie Moore is looking for his squad to build on the new-found “feel good” factor at the club.

It may be an odd phrase to use, with Pools propping up the rest of the Football League.

Everyone feels great at the moment

But three wins on the spin ahead of today’s visit of Cambridge United to Victoria Park has boosted morale at the Sky Bet League Two side.

And Moore wants his players to tap into that and continue their push for survival, with their relegation rivals all scrambling for points.

“Everybody feels great at the moment and there is a feel good factor,” said Moore.

“A month ago there wasn’t many that would think we’d be in this position but we have always had the believe and the desire.

“As a manager it can be hard [keeping spirits up] when you haven’t kept a clean sheet away from home for 12-months.

“But then we get two in three days and three wins in a week and that has changed the whole attitude.

“Not just at our club but at others too, who thought we were dead and buried.

“Now there are two spots that everybody has to worry about.”

Moore says cutting the points deficit by seven points in the space of three games, shows how far the side has come since he arrived in mid-December.

“We are in good form and it shows how far we have come in a short while,” added Moore.

“We have the belief and are playing as a team, who are working their socks off.

“The harder you work, the luckier you get and I have seen massive improvements, especially in our away form.

“We have given ourselves the lifeline - nothing else - and we have to take it.”
