HARTLEPOOL United chairman Ken Hodcroft has addressed the issue of the club’s desperate home form.
Writing in his matchday programme notes before last night’s 1-0 defeat to Preston North End, the Pools chief admitted that the causes of the club-record run of seven straight home defeats would be “examined in detail over the coming days”.
Hodcroft wrote: “Expecting three points at home has put a focus on the team (and individual) performances.
“And we have failed to deliver the three points and not always had the performance expected at home for several games now.
“Why, we don’t know – it’s definitely not due to the travelling!
“The possible causes of our poor home form will be examined in detail in the coming days - especially as we have no match on Saturday.”
Mick Wadsworth’s side, though, boast the second-best away record in the division and is the reason they still occupy a mid-table position.
