HARTLEPOOL United are searching for a fan representative to be involved in helping the club communicate with supporters.

Club officials want someone “passionate” about Pools who can feed back the thoughts of other fans directly to the board in a “constructive and forthright way”.

During the two home games in January, supporters coming through the turnstiles at Victoria Park will have the chance to vote for their favourite candidate who will then be invited to sit with the board on a monthly basis.

Fans wishing to be considered for nomination need to send a letter or email to the club, explaining why they should be on the shortlist.

The board and management of the club will then select a three-person shortlist to stand for the election process.

New club chairman Peter Harris said: “We want the community to feel engaged and this is the first step of many to take to ensure we involve the fans, as I’ve promised to do.

“It should be a fun process finding the candidates and then getting the fans on board to select their representative.”

Fans can nominate themselves by emailing their letter to media@hartlepoolunited.co.uk or alternatively post it to: Hartlepool United Football Club, Victoria Park, Clarence Road, Hartlepool, TS24 8BZ.
