HARTLEPOOL United legend Ritchie Humphreys admits the FA Cup first round tie with Stevenage is another chance to get their season back on track.
Mick Wadsworth’s men will take on their League One rivals at Victoria Park a week on Saturday having been paired in yesterday’s draw, made by former Pools striker and player-manager Keith Houchen.
And Humphreys told SportMail: “I wouldn’t say it’s a welcome distraction because we desperately want to get our league form back to what it was.
“Because of that we’re looking forward to every game as a chance to get back on track and the cup game will be no different.
“It’s a home tie, which is what you want, and it’s against a team we know and have played already this season.”
Pools squandered a two-goal lead in that game at Broadhall Way as Stevenage claimed a last-minute draw.
And Humphreys went on: “We were very disappointed with ourselves in that game down there so this is a chance to put things right in a way.”
