MICK Wadsworth agrees Gary Liddle’s future lies in the centre of midfield – but believes his versatility makes him “invaluable” to Hartlepool United.
The 24-year-old, who is out of contract in six weeks’ time, returned from a three-game ban during the 2-0 Easter Monday defeat at Southampton.
And following the second-half dismissal of Sam Collins, Liddle’s ability to adapt was clear as he filled the void at the centre of the defence. “It was great to have Gary back,” Wadsworth told SportMail, “He’s played in pretty much every game this season, so it goes without saying how important he’s been.
