NATHAN Luscombe believes he could have won the game inside 90 seconds against Tranmere Rovers last night – but admits what followed “just wasn’t good enough”.
The 21-year-old was desperately unlucky not to fire Pools into an early lead when he raced onto James Poole’s pullback only to see a first-time blast brushed over the crossbar by Owain Fon-Williams in the visiting goal.
And Luscombe says had that effort found the back of the net then the home side would have gone on to take maximum points.
“If we’d scored that first goal I think we would have definitely won,” he told SportMail today.
