HARTLEPOOL United skipper Sam Collins gave Pools’ three debutants some words of advice before their Victoria Park bow yesterday, writes DOMINIC SHAW

The strapping centre-half remembers his debut when he was thrown into action on a Tuesday night for Huddersfield Town away at Colchester United as an 18-year old.

The 33-year-old says he remembers seasoned professionals offering their words of advice and help when he was making his way through the ranks.
