JACK Baldwin has left Hartlepool United and joined League One Peterborough United in a dramatic £500,000 move on transfer deadline night.

Defender Baldwin, 20, has emerged as one of the Football League’s hottest properties and moves to London Road in the biggest transfer fee involving Pools since Adam Boyd left for Luton Town.

Signed from Faversham Town in 2011 by then Pools boss Mick Wadsworth, Baldwin has long since attracted scouts.

He played 85 times for the Victoria Park outfit, scoring six goals.
