HARTLEPOOL United boss Neale Cooper has made his first capture of the close season in the shape of Middlesbrough midfielder Jonathan Franks.
The nippy 22-year-old winger has put pen to paper on a deal at Victoria Park after being released by Boro at the end of the season.
The former England Youth international has turned down offers from several other clubs to join Cooper’s new look side for next season.
Franks – who can play on either wing – caught Cooper’s eye when he spent the last three months of last season at Pools’ League One rivals Yeovil Town where he scored three times in 14 appearances.
Franks played 28 times and scored three goals for Boro after making his debut for the club against West Ham on the final day of the 2008/09 season.
