SAM Collins is hoping that the turn of the year will herald a fresh start for him on the fitness front.
The skipper admits the first half of the campaign has, at times, been a “nightmare” given the niggling injuries which have kept him sidelined.
Collins has been forced to miss several games because of a succession of minor problems, including thigh and calf complaints.
But the 34-year-old centre-back returned to the fold earlier this month and has now completed the last two matches.
And he told SportMail just how frustrating the past few months have been.
“It’s been a bit of a nightmare season for me so far with injuries,” he explained.
“I’ve never really had muscle injuries throughout my career but I’ve had two or three really niggly things which are pathetic really – they drive you mad.
“It’s been frustrating and I don’t understand why.”
