Wantaway striker Padraig Amond's move to Newport County is set to be confirmed today.
A fee has been agreed between the clubs with personal terms sorted out between the League Two outfit and the player in the last 24 hours.
The player has also passed a medical, with the move to Rodney Parade set to be announced officially later today.
Manager Craig Harrison confirmed in the aftermath of Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Bromley that Amond had refused to travel with the rest of the team for the game, effectively refusing to play for the club again.
As a result the club allowed the player to leave, despite fighting off interest from a number of fourth tier sides this summer.
Amond has not trained with his Pools teammates since the incident last Friday.
An announcement is expected within hours confirming Amond's departure.
Meanwhile, Harrison admits there is no ill feeling between the player and himself, despite their recent, very public dispute.
"There has been no fireworks. There is nothing we have fallen out about. We are just disappointed," he said.
"From day one Podge has not tried to hide his feelings - he has not wanted to be here. I spoke to him three or four days into the job.
"We have worked hard as a staff to keep him, knowing his record. For whatever reason things haven't gone the way we'd want them to.
"Podge wants to go in a different direction."
