Hartlepool United boss Craig Hignett has given Liam Donnelly the nod to start at right-back for this afternoon's clash with table toppers Plymouth Argyle.

But the match has come around too soon for centre-back Rob Jones, who did not travel with the squad to Home Park.

Pools make two changes from the side that drew 0-0 with Mansfield last week.

Billy Paynter drops to the bench, replaced by Padraig Amond up top, while Jake Carroll comes in for the injured Carl Magnay. Donnelly slots in on the right, with Carroll in his usual left-back role.

Despite impressing for the reserves in midweek Jordan Richards has to settle for a place on the bench.
