Hartlepool United were outclassed 4-0 by a superb Bournemouth side but there was no faulting the effort from the players. Here are Roy Kelly’s match ratings

Adam Bartlett: Could not be faulted on any of the away goals and made a number of superb saves. 8

Michael Duckworth: Had his hands full with Junior Stanislas down his wing. United with Jake Carroll to deny Lee Tomlin and set up two chances at the end . 7

Scott Harrison: Not your usual League Two test for a defender given everything was along the deck but made what headers he needed to and gave a whole-hearted effort. 6

Andrew Boyce: See Scott Harrison. Also had half a chance to score late on but headed over. 6

Jake Carroll: See Duckworth though his threat was the livewire Christian Atsu. 6

Carl Magnay: Had a lot of work to contend with but did it well. Showed great energy and skill to get into away box at end to set up Bingham. But needs to start shooting himself. 6

Michael Woods: Showed some ambition in the opposition half and was always looking to play. 6

Nicky Featherstone: Tried, as always to move the ball, but was a tough task against a gifted side. 6

Rhys Oates: Spent a lot of his night in his own half defending, but put in a shift. 6

Billy Paynter: Ploughed a loan furrow up front and saw little of the ball. Taken off at half time to protect a tight hamstring. 6

Rakish Bingham: Like Oates, much of his time was spent behind the ball, but had three pretty good chances late on and must forget his nightmare miss. 6
