HARTLEPOOL United dipped below the level of the previous Saturday. Here are the player ratings:

Scott Flinders 6: Could do little with goals, which all seemed to find the corner

Michael Duckworth 6: Celebrated contract extension this week with a couple of good forward bursts

Jack Baldwin 6: Some good tackles but left Flinders short with backpass which led to Oxford’s pen and third goal

Christian Burgess 6: Not afforded the same time on ball he had against Accrington and Bristol

Neil Austin 6: Got forward a fair bit in the second half but will be disappointed his defence lapsed again

Jonathan Franks 5: Bad day at the office, some of Pools promising moves ended when the ball reached him

Simon Walton 5: Rasping early shot almost leveled things but too many miss-placed passes

Matty Dolan 6: Involved in some good work after break

Jack Compton 5: Had a hand or rather head in the Pools goal, But crossing/ set-pieces both poor

Luke James 7: Did not have the same chances as the previous week but scored one from two.

Andy Monkhouse 6: Found it difficult in first half when Pools had little of the play but came to life in second

Subs: James Poole 8 (on for Franks 38 mins): A breath of fresh air and nuisance to the Oxford side

Steve Howard n/a (on for Austin 84 mins): Short appearance

Antony Sweeney n/a (on for Walton 90 mins): Did not see ball in the mayhem that was injury time
