HARTLEPOOL United boss Colin Cooper has extended Matty Dolan’s loan stay from Middlesbrough for a further month.

Dolan scored his first Pools goal in Tuesday night’s 3-1 win over Wimbledon and is in good form alongside Simon Walton in the centre of midfield.

And Cooper, despite the fact Boro are currently managerless, has been able to strike a deal with his former club.

“I’m delighted we’ve got things completed with Matty coming for another month,” Cooper said.

“I was pleased to have 10 minutes with the Middlesbrough chief executive to sort that out.

“They obviously have their own stuff going on at the moment, but it’s important for us we got Matthew again.”

Dolan made his debut against Fleetwood in August and has been a mainstay since.

The 20-year-old missed the wins at Mansfield and Sheffield United with a groin injury but returned at Exeter where he played arguably his best game since his arrival at the club.
