SCOTT Harrison is to remain at Hartlepool United for a further two months, the club has confirmed.
The on-loan Sunderland defender has impressed alongside club captain Matthew Bates since joining on loan before the trip to Wimbledon in late August.
Since then he has started the last four matches in Sky Bet League Two, helping the side to clean sheets against Shrewsbury Town and Tranmere Rovers.
Pools then endured a difficult week on the road, losing 5-1 to Northampton Town and the 2-0 defeat at Plymouth Argyle at the weekend.
But boss Colin Cooper has been keen to extend the stay of the powerful 21-year-old from Premier League neighbours Sunderland.
He confirmed at the weekend the deal was for a further two months and the paperwork has been completed this afternoon at Victoria Park.
Harrison – who was also on loan at Pools at the end of last season – will remain with Cooper’s squad until after the game with York City on Saturday, November 22.
Cooper told the club’s website: “We’re pleased to get things done with Scott because he’s a good defender who has done well since he came here.
“He was keen to stay with us after his first month expired because he’s really enjoying his football so we’re delighted we’ve been able to get the deal finalised.”
Earlier today, the Clarence Road club also confirmed that on-loan Middlesbrough striker Charlie Wyke had extended his stay at Pools for a further two months.
The news comes as a boost to Pools, who are struggling in League Two.
They dropped to second bottom in the league after the defeat at Argyle and host Portsmouth at The Vic on Saturday.
Despite confirmation of Harrison and Wyke extending their loan deals, the club is still short of players, especially up front and fans will be hoping for further additions before the weekend.
