NOBBY Solano has played his last game for Hartlepool United – and in professional football.
SportMail revealed in February that the Peruvian had decided to call time on his playing career having fallen out of favour under new boss Neale Cooper.
Indeed, Solano has not featured since then and he was last seen at Maiden Castle in early March.
However, there has been no official confirmation of his departure from the Victoria Park and his name was not among those released from the club on Thursday.
But we can reveal that Solano is set to jet off for the summer this week, taking part in the Barbados Legends Tournament later this month before returning to his home country.
He will join Alan Shearer, Rob Lee and John Beresford as part of a team of former Newcastle United stars turning out on the Caribbean Isle on May 26.
After that he will return to Peru where he will star in a testimonial match in his name.
His future beyond that is uncertain, although we understand he will return to the UK before picking up his coaching career.
Meanwhile, news is still awaited on the future of Gary Liddle and Ritchie Humphreys with their contracts set to expire this month.
