Hartlepool Utd’s appeal against Simon Walton’s red card in the game against Morecambe on Easter Monday has been rejected by the Football Association.

The Pools midfielder was sent-off just before the hour mark in Monday’s fixture at The Vic for a challenge on Shrimps wing-back Jordan Mustoe.

Now Walton will be forced to serve a four-match ban – three games for the offence on Monday and a further game due to it being his second red card of the campaign.
