FOOTBALL-mad youngsters are being offered the chance for a unique matchday experience.

The Premier Player Football Academy, whose head coach is former Middlesbrough star Neil Maddison (left), are running a matchday package which starts with a mini football tournament before a trip to Victoria Park to watch Hartlepool United in action.

Maddison explains: “Children aged between six and 13 can come along at 12.30pm on Saturdays and they will be divided into age-specific mini-leagues after which we’ll play a tournament with medals for the winners.

“Lunch is provided, then we’ll be taken by coach to Victoria Park where we can hopefully watch some great football, ending with a win for Hartlepool United.”

The cost for the day, including lunch and match ticket, is £20 and children will be supervised by CRB-checked qualified coaches.

And Maddison went on: “Everyone is welcome so a group of friends can come down and enter a team.

“For £20 we think it’s good value and hopefully the children will enjoy the day, get to play a bit of football and then head off to the match.”

The Saturday Soccer Matchday Experience will be running at Grayfields each Saturday when Pools are playing at home, starting with tomorrow’s visit of Swindon Town .
