Hartlepool United have suffered a blow with news that Jake Cassidy has been ruled out for the next EIGHT weeks with a foot injury.
The 24-year-old, the team's joint top scorer with two goals, had won the praise of Craig Harrison for his dedication and determination to play through the pain barrier.
However, the former Wales U21 striker has been forced to admit defeat to the problem.
He limped off at Guiseley last Monday and was ruled out of the 3-1 win over Maidstone on Saturday, when Connor Simpson started as the principal striker.
The teenager capped a great full debut when he headed in the team's third goal and he looks set to continue in the central role against Dagenham & Redbridge this Saturday.
Harrison described Cassidy and Scott Harrison as "warriors" for their commitment to the cause.
An X-ray for defender Harrison's foot has revealed no break but there is no news yet on how long he may be missing.
