New owners, new players, new sponsors, a new look and even a new pitch.

It’s all change at Victoria Park, although some things never alter – groundsman Dave Brown was still very protective of his pitch even though the only activity was a photoshoot.

Seneca are a new, innovative, up and coming company with great vision and we’re proud to be associated with them

Hartlepool United have unveiled their new home strip for next season.

Jake Carroll and Scott Fenwick were the players who give the kit its debut.

The Pools blue is still there, but instead of stripes, there is now a white diagonal band running from the right shoulder toward the left hip.

The traditional blue shorts and white socks finish it off.

It’s a smart look and a new look and you guess that’s how Pools and their owners, JPNG, want it.

Following the end of Increased Oil Recovery’s reign, there are new home shirt sponsors too, home being the operative word.

Seneca Homes is the name emblazoned across the blue and white, as they take over from Dove Energy, one of the companies of IOR owner, Norwegian oil magnate Berge Larsen.

Camerons Brewery, long-time backers of the club, will also be on the jerseys, having the famous red lion on the shoulder.

JPNG continue in the excellent footsteps of IOR by backing Ronnie Moore’s summer shopping excursion – the arrival of keeper Adam Bartlett yesterday, from Gateshead, was the ninth signing.

And while things are looking healthy on Mr Brown’s very green field, things are looking good off it, which brings us neatly onto another Green.

Chief executive Russ Green says the link-up with companies based in the town and surrounding areas will form a key part of the club’s strategy moving forward.

“We’re going in to a new era,” he said. “And it’s fantastic news that we have a local company based in Hartlepool as our shirt sponsor,” he explained.

“We hope that it’s the beginning of a long-term relationship and a partnership that can prove beneficial for both parties.

“We’ve been working on this behind the scenes – we want to bring local people and local companies back to the club because we know they will have an affinity with the football team.

“Seneca are a new, innovative, up and coming company with great vision and we’re proud to be associated with them going in to the new season.

“It’s also great to see the Red Lion of Camerons back on the first team shirt at Hartlepool United.

“I’m thrilled that our association with Camerons is being further enhanced following their stand sponsorship and beer provision agreement last season.

“I think that the name of Camerons has always been synonymous with Pools over the years and they’re a company who are proud of their town heritage and association with the club.”
