SPORTMAIL’S Craig Hope returns his verdict on Pools’ players during the 3-1 win at Portsmouth.

Flinders 9 – Without his first-half saves Pools would have trailed by at least one – they were key to victory and thereafter he was a rock. MOM.

Austin 7 – Assist for the second and was faultless throughout, another good game after return to side

Collins 8 – Lost count of his goalmouth blocks and headers won

Hartley 7 – Solid and reliable, this will hopefully do his confidence the world of good

Horwood 7 – Laid on the first and roared up the left-wing at every opportunity while dealing with opposition threat at other end

Walton 8 – His best game yet in a Pools shirt, kept the ball and competed well and came through 90 minutes

Humphreys 8 – Did what he has been doing for some weeks now, never wasted a pass and was always there to bail out team-mates

Baldwin 7 – Superb technique for opener and adapted to new role with ease, he’s a real star

Franks 7 – Laid on chances for team-mates and was popping up all over the place, good assist for the third

Poole 7 – What a finish it was and he could have had a hat-trick – can he now build on this?

Wyke 7 – Looked far better in more advanced role and everything good about Pools ticked around him

James 6 – Gave Pompey something to think about in final 20 minutes and went close to scoring

Rutherford 7 – He was only on four minutes but made the perfect impact
