NOW we go again.

That’s the message Mick Wadsworth will deliver to his players today as they reconvene at Maiden Castle following the weekend defeat against Sheffield Wednesday.

The 1-0 reverse was Pools’ first in League One this season and brought to an end the club-record start which had propelled them as high as third in the table.

Wadsworth admits his men were downbeat in the wake of Saturday’s match. But he won’t allow that mood to fester as they immediately look ahead to next Sunday’s live televised showdown at Notts County.

“It’s all about how the players react now,” the manager told SportMail.

“We’ve got to get a result at Notts County and show this was a one-off and get back on that unbeaten route.

“The players were as low as a dachshund’s belly after the game.

“They’re disappointed because the run has ended but they’ve given everything.

“But it’s gone now, it’s been fantastic but it had to end at some point.

“We’re still in a great position and we’re high in the league.

“If we let this get us down we’re not as strong and tough as I think we are.

“So we’ll get over it and startworking for next Sunday which is a massive game.”
