MICKY Barron will tomorrow return to the scene of his very first game in caretaker charge of Hartlepool United.

It was at Brentford in December of last season that the former Pools favourite took care of first-team affairs following Mick Wadsworth’s sacking.

That outing ended in a cruel 2-1 defeat, a late home goal denying Barron a deserved point on his managerial bow.

Tomorrow he will again take the temporary reins in the wake of Neale Cooper’s resignation.

Last year he shuffled his pack with Nobby Solano dropped for the first time that season, but this weekend his options are a little more limited.

Peter Hartley, Evan Horwood and Paul Murray all returned from injury for the midweek defeat to Bury, and that trio could start at Griffin Park.

Andy Monkhouse (ankle) and Luke James (hernia) remain sidelined.

POOLS (probable): Flinders; Austin, Collins, Hartley, Horwood; Franks, Murray, Baldwin, Sweeney; Noble, Howard. Subs: McHugh, Humphreys, Poole, Luscombe, Walton, Holden, Richards
