BRYN Morris links up with the England U18s camp this weekend – but fellow Teessider Brad Walker will not be joining him, writes CHRIS BELL.
Hartlepool-born Morris travels to St George’s Park tomorrow in preparation for Tuesday’s behind-closed-doors match against Belgium.
Hartlepool United’s Walker, involved in the previous two training camps, was pulled from the standby list due to his involvement in Pools’ match day squad for the trip to Southend.
Billingham-born Walker, however, is a reserve for the early March double-header against Croatia, with the matches being staged at St George’s Park and a venue still yet to be confirmed.
Pools boss Colin Cooper told the club’s official website: “To be put on standby again shows us that what we’re all doing at this club is beneficial for the young players and it’s great that his technical ability and talent is being recognised.
“It’s another shot in the arm for Brad and we’re pleased for him.”
Morris, 17, has been named in the squad of 19 for the visit of the Croatians and it is anticipated that Neil Dewsnip will once again give the captain’s armband to the Middlesbrough midfield.
Morris is a regular in Boro’s U21 squad and has played 21 times for England youth, the last of which came in October when The Three Lions beat Hungary 2-1 and 4-0.
