Ronnie Moore and Sam Collins are to be rewarded with new, long-term contracts, Hartlepool United’s new chairman has confirmed.
Moore’s contract ends in December and supporters have been desperate to see the manager that led their side to last season’s Great Escape rewarded with a new deal.
New chairman Gary Coxall, who was presented to the media today at Victoria Park, has confirmed plans are in place to do just that.
Collins, Moore’s assistant, is also set to be rewarded with a new deal too.
Coxall said: “A new contract, longer term, for Ronnie and Sam.
“There is no beating around the bush trying, to be political.
“We have had discussions, which were positive and hopefully there will be an announcement soon.
“We need to secure those two.”
Moore joined Pools last December, with the club stranded at the foot of League Two.
He led them to safety with a game to spare and has already made six new signings this pre-season.
The Pools squad return to training next Monday, at Maiden Castle, in Durham, ahead of nine pre-season friendlies.
