Pam Duxbury has poured cold water on fan fears that former director Gary Coxall is still pulling the strings at Hartlepool United.

Speaking at the recent Pools Fan Panel meeting, held at Victoria Park on Thursday, August 16, the chief executive stated categorically that shamed and discredited Coxall was no longer associated with the National League outfit.

Minutes released to the club website, state: “Addressing some recent rumours surrounding the club, (Pam Duxbury) stressed that former owner Gary Coxall has nothing to do with the Club or Pam.”

Recruitment is also an area where rumour has circled in recent times.

Duxbury again moved to assure fans that manager Craig Harrison has absolute control over transfers.

“Further to rumours about recruitment Craig Harrison recruited his own players, they were selected by him,” she said.

Duxbury admits that the club is not quite where she would like be at this stage.

She says that a number of issues have meant that certain plans for developing Hartlepool United off the field have had to be shelved, in order to attempt to get things right on it.

The minutes from the meeting read: “(She) expressed disappointment that the club hadn’t got through as much as had hoped in the close season.

“This was due to time spent securing ownership of the club, appointing a new manager, and signing players, etc.

“(She) advised that work will continue to improve things around the ground.”

The club promised to look into issues raised by those present, including cover for disabled fans and catering.
