Player Ratings

Scott Flinders: 8. Busy afternoon for Flinders who kept Pools in the game with a great instinct save in first-half.

Jordan Richards: 7. Loose pass in the first half could have proved costly but got away with it and had a solid afternoon after that.

Matthew Bates: 7. Showed his experience at times with some good defending. Had work cut out but dealt with it well.

Scott Harrison. 8. MOM. Really solid performance at the back for the Sunderland loanee. No-nonsense but also cool in possession.

Neil Austin: 7. Pools defended well as a unit and Austin played his part. Similar to Cheltenham match away but they held firm this time.

Ryan Brobbel: 6. Put a shift in down the right flank after a busy week with Northern Ireland Under-21s. Looked leggy as the game wore on and was subbed.

Tommy Miller: 6. Started the match really well with good play in the middle of the park early on but influence waned.

Brad Walker: 6. Not his best game, had to work hard and did far more defending than attacking. Needs to get on the ball more.

Jack Compton: 6. Not as much of a threat as last weekend against Shrewsbury but showed glimpses. Was subbed second-half.

Jonathan Franks: 6. Didn’t see much of the ball and was subbed second half. Pools in need of reinforcements up front.

Charlie Wyke: 6. Had to work hard because he was feeding off scraps for most of the game. His and Franks partnership didn’t get going.

Subs:

Marlon Harewood: 6. Looked pumped up when he came on but didn’t really influence the game greatly.

Darren Holden: 6. Came on for Compton on the left wing, helped ensure a clean sheet. Didn’t have chance to get forward.

Michael Woods: 6. Tried to be too clever at times. Rashly shot wide when in a good position.

@RMennearHMail Very dull match. Only 1 team looked capable of scoring and unfortunately it wasn’t us #terracetweets

@RMennearHMail #TerraceTweets A bore draw but I’d have took a point against Tranmere, there was no midfield. Hope Woods starts on Tuesday.

@RMennearHMail #terracetweets Got away with a 0-0 yesterday. Midfield and Forwards desperately required, squad is desperately thin.

@RMennearHMail only got what was deserved new blood needed

@RMennearHMail @HPoolMail fair result, both teams were poor in front of goal, we need at least two new recruits asap.

@RMennearHMail least we can defend now but wheres the loan signings we were promised? Where’s the James money being spent? #TerraceTweets

@RMennearHMail Positives, another clean sheet & defended well but lack of creativity & little football played, we are short of options.
