Pools chiefs consider Friday night fixtures

HARTLEPOOL United chiefs are calling on fans to have their say on plans to re-introduce Friday night fixtures.

Last season Victoria Park did not host any Friday night fixtures, but the club is considering the possibility of re-introducing some for the League Two campaign.

Mark Simpson, Hartlepool United’s media manager, said: “In seasons gone by, Pools have played a handful of games under the lights on a Friday evening, picking up some great results such as the 8-1 triumph over Grimsby Town and 3-0 crushing of Sheffield Wednesday.

“We didn’t incorporate any Friday games in to our fixture schedule during 2012-13, but would like fans to let us know whether they would enjoy seeing them back next season.”

The 2013-14 fixtures are unveiled on Wednesday, June 19. The club can apply for a small number to be changed as long as they are agreed with opposition clubs.
