HARTLEPOOL United are facing a selection crisis just three games into the new season.

Boss Mick Wadsworth is today counting the cost of Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Walsall which saw Gary Liddle fracture his cheekbone, Nathan Luscombe shown a straight red card and Nobby Solano and Evan Horwood limp off injured.

Liddle, who completed the 90 minutes following the first-minute clash with Saddlers skipper Andy Butler, went to hospital on Saturday night where x-rays revealed the double fracture.
