POOLS will welcome Newcastle United to Victoria Park on Tuesday night.
It will be the final home pre-season friendly at The Vic for Hartlepool United.
The Magpies will compete a trio of North East teams to visit the town this pre-season following the friendlies against Sunderland and Middlesbrough.
Pools boss Neale Cooper says he is delighted the Premier League side have agreed to play and he’s looking forward to welcoming Alan Pardew for the 7.30pm kick-off.
“We’re always happy to host our local clubs in pre-season and we’re really pleased that Newcastle are coming on Tuesday,” Cooper said.
“When we heard there was an opportunity that we could set up the fixture we jumped at it because games are always good for players at this time of the year.
“You can train as hard as you want and get your fitness up, but it’s the games that really get you going and we need everyone to be match sharp.
“We’re sure it will be a really entertaining game and if the Sunderland and Middlesbrough games are anything to go by it will be a wonderful atmosphere too.”
As with the previous two friendlies, home fans will be in the Hartlepool College of FE Stand and the Cyril Knowles Stand, with the other two sides given to visiting supporters.
