HARTLEPOOL United fans have been quick to give their reaction to Colin Cooper’s dramatic resignation.

The Pools manager handed in his notice within minutes of the final whistle following his side’s 3-0 defeat to Carlisle United at Victoria Park in Sky Bet League Two.

The heavy defeat left Pools bottom of the Football League and Pools fans have had their say on social media.

SportMail has been inundated with reaction from supporters using the #TerraceTweets while fans have also had their say on the Mail’s website.

Some say he had no choice but to go, while others have expressed their disappointment and say the blame lies elsewhere.

Meanwhile, on the Mail’s website supporters have also been having their say.

Dalemomer wrote: “Think how close we were to beating Sheffield wed at Cardiff. Hartlepool football team means so much to a lot of people.

“After last season I am amazed how many people bought season tickets.

“Come let’s all get behind pools, but get a decent manager who can leads us out of this.

“Pools are too good to be in conference.”

King Houchen added: “I don’t think IOR have backed him with money but he has brought in worse players than he has let go and his transfer priority of stacking the squad with full backs as opposed to the spine.

“Sad day but Brian Laws, Richie Barker or Dean Saunders would be my shouts!”
