HARTLEPOOL United boss Ronnie Moore has admitted there is “every chance” on-loan Scunthorpe United defender David Mirfin will miss the match with Exeter City.

The 30-year-old missed the 3-0 defeat at Luton Town last weekend with a badly bruised toe and he is a major doubt.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference at Victoria Park, Moore confirmed there was no fracture or ligament damage.

But it seems highly unlikely he will feature in the game on Saturday, as Pools continue their battle against the drop.

Moore said: “We have missed Mirf and the young lads missed him and we’ve worked on the back four the majority of this week in case he’s not fit.

“There’s no fracture, no ligament tear it’s just very sore and we wait and see.

“At this present time I think there’s every chance he will be missing.”
