HARTLEPOOL United boss Ronnie Moore will be hoping for an improved display from his fringe players when they take on Doncaster Rovers tonight.
The second string are unbeaten in four matches in the Final Third Development League and are looking to make it number five when Rovers visit Bedford Terrace (KO 7pm).
Scott Fenwick and Matthew Bates will both start the match after long periods out with an ankle injury and thigh injury, respectively.
Moore was less than impressed last time out, criticising some of his fringe players for not doing enough to press their first team claims.
It followed the 1-1 draw at home to Rotherham United, a game which featured out of favour duo Marvin Morgan, on-loan from Plymouth Argyle, and Jack Compton.
Speaking last week, Moore told SportMail: “The fringe players will have to work and perform a lot better than they did [against Rotherham] if they want to get back into the first team.
“There was one or two who didn’t really want to play, they will be no good to me.”
A strong line-up also includes Jack Compton, Tommy Miller, Stuart Parnaby and Marvin Morgan.
Sam Collins will again lead the side.
Season Ticket holders can get in to the Final Third Development League fixture for free, while regular admission prices are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
