HARTLEPOOL United has announced that season ticket sales has hit the 3,000 mark and the deadline for discounted tickets has been extended.

Officials at the Sky Bet League Two club say they are giving as many Pools fans as possible the chance to get their hands on a season ticket by extending the discounted prices until 4pm on Friday, August 15 - the day before the first home game against Bury.

Up to then, the club is keeping prices at £200 for adults, £150 for students and senior citizens, just £100 for Under 19s and £60 for Under 13s.

Russ Green, the club’s chief executive, said: “We’re delighted with the sales figures on season tickets again.

“3,000 is a brilliant figure for us to hit in this division and it shows once more the loyalty we have from the supporters and we want to repay that this season.

“For the opening home game we want as many people as possible to come in blue and white – we want a Wall of Colour to help us make sure we get off on the right foot at The Vic.

“Our fans played a huge part last season and we know that when they really get behind the team that Victoria Park is an intimidating place for the opposition – let’s make that the case from the very start and see where it takes us.

“I would like to thank all the supporters who have backed the club by buying season tickets for 2014-15 and assure them that their support is valued by everyone at Hartlepool United.”

Season Tickets remain on sale from the ticket office in Clarence Road.
