HARTLEPOOL United have named Sunderland trialist Jassem Sukar and Bolton midfielder Chris Lester in the reserve side to face Scunthorpe United.

Sam Collins’ second string take on the Iron at Glanford Park this afternoon (KO 2pm) and will line up in a 3-5-2 formation, to mirror the system used by the first team under Ronnie Moore.

Sukar, from Hartlepool, made a brief appearance in the last reserve outing and will be given the chance to impress from the start against Scunthorpe.

He is out of contract in the summer at the Stadium of Light.

Meanwhile, Lester has also joined the club on trial from Bolton. The 20-year-old midfielder, from Salford, has represented Northern Ireland U21s.

Tommy Miller, who has been out of the first team picture since October with a troublesome calf injury is now fit and pressing for a recall and he starts, while on-loan Plymouth Argyle striker Marvin Morgan will start his first game in a few weeks.

The reserves are looking for their third straight win in the Final Third Development League following victories over Mansfield Town (8-0) and Gateshead (1-0).
