TRIALISTS Michael Woods and Cameron Park will play for Hartlepool United against Spennymoor Town this evening in the club’s final pre-season match.

Pools take on Evo-Stik Division One North side Spennymoor Town (KO 7.30pm) at Brewery Field and player coach Sam Collins will be overseeing the match.

The friendly will see pacy midfielder Woods, who has been on trial for a fortnight, try to impress. A groin injury has restricted him to just a substitute appearance away at Bradford Park Avenue.

Ex-Harrogate Town midfielder Woods, 24, is on trial and Pools manager Colin Cooper had previously told SportMail he was looking forward to seeing Woods play.

Cooper added: “Technically he is different class, so I want to give him that opportunity.”

Another trialist Cameron Park, formerly of Championship neighbours Middlesbrough will also feature tonight, alongside Jordan Richards and Jonathan Franks.

Park, 22, has spent the past four seasons at Boro, with loans spells at Barnsley and Crewe Alexandra, before he was released in the summer.

The Pools squad will be travelling to the Brewery Field to take on the Evo-Stik Division One North new boys six days before the new League Two campaign starts away at Stevenage on August 9.

Prices for tonight’s fixture are £4 for adults and £2 for concessions, with gates opening at 6.30pm.

Pools: Barber, Richards, Nearney, Rowbotham, Jones, Green, Park, Hawkins, Smith, Franks, Woods.

Subs: Turnbull, Dawson, Armstrong, Wood, Carr, Mitchinson, Blackford.
