Hartlepool United suffered their third straight league defeat in the 2-1 loss at Wycombe Wanderers.

But how did the Pools players get on? Richard Mennear gives his player ratings below:

Kudus Oyenuga and Rakish Bingham in action against Wycombe Wanderers

Kudus Oyenuga and Rakish Bingham in action against Wycombe Wanderers

Adam Bartlett: 6. Couldn’t do much about first goal, second was out of his reach. Needs to command area more.

Carl Magnay: 5. Scored and had been playing well until red card. The red mist descended and will now miss three games.

Scott Harrison: 5. Poor. The centre backs were bullied by the Wycombe strikers. Off day for Harrison.

Harry Worley: 5. Similar to Harrison, didn’t win his headers and was bullied at times. Big improvement needed.

Dan Jones: 5. Not his best game, still working his way back into form. Stood off Harriman for second goal.

Rhys Oates: 7. MOM. Worked hard down the right wing, never stopped running. Very few contenders for MOM but he just sneaked it.

Michael Woods: 6. Quiet game by Woods’ high standards. Didn’t influence as much as usual.

Nicky Featherstone: 6. Steady from Featherstone, defended well at times. Kept play ticking over. Involved in goal.

Jake Carroll: 7. Worked hard down the left-hand side. Had a good chance to score but shot straight at the keeper. Was a threat on the wing.

Rakish Bingham: 6. Another assist. Chances few and far between and lost possession too easily at times.

Billy Paynter: 6. Hit the post just before the break, was fouled constantly by the Wycombe defenders. Went off with hamstring concern again.

Subs:

Scott Fenwick: 5 Ineffective when he came on. Pools were trailing 2-1.

Kudus Oyenuga: 5 Unpredictable. Should have been red carded late on.

Connor Smith: 6. Busy. Ran at the Wycombe defence and made a nuisance of himself.

Subs Not Used: Denton, Boyce, Hawkins, Nelson-Addy.

Wycombe:

Matt Ingram: 7

Sido Jombati: 6

Joe Jacobson: 7

Janoi Donacien: 6

Danny Rowe: 6

Referee:

Darren Deadman (Cambridgeshire) Let the game flow first half but Pools felt aggrieved by decision not to award Bingham a free kick in build up to Wycombe winner.
