Billingham Town-Hartlepool United: Craig Hignett names his five new signings

Craig Hignett picked his first Hartlepool United team of pre-season. Or two to be precise.

The Pools boss has brought a huge squad to Bedford Terrace today for the first friendly against Billingham Town and selected an XI for each half.Principal signings Lewis Alessandra, Padraig Amond, Nicky Deverdics and Toto Nsalia all wear Pools strips for the first time as does fellow summer recruit, forward Jake Orrell, who joined from Chesterfield.Hignett named two trialists, left back Tom Gilbey and central defender Andrew May.

Nsalia and Alessandra were selected in the opening half with Amond, Deverdics and Orrell due on at half-time.

First Half: Carson, Magnay, Bates, Nsiala, Gilbey, Featherstone, Laurent, Hawkins, Alessandra, Paynter, Oates.

Second Half: Bartlett, Richards, May, Jones, Carroll, Walker, Woods, Deverdics, Orrell, Amond, Thomas.
