It is the third season in a row that Pools have been able to boast a rise in attendances and reflects the passion of the supporters, despite the club not being in the best of form.

The figure is just under 1,000 shy of the 4,947 average of the 2011-12 programme though that was the campaign when Pools sold £100 season tickets.

Pools went past the 4,000 mark six times through the season and broke the 5,000 barrier once for the final home match against Portsmouth.

Such has been the backing from the fans, Pools dipped below 3,000 on only two occasions, the Johnston’s Paints Trophy thriller with Sheffield United (2,221) and the FA Cup first round struggle with Cheltenham Town (2,287).
