After two away trips in four days, which saw long journeys to Exeter and Crewe, Hignett is relishing a return to the North-East as the Magpies come to town.

Two entertaining performances saw Pools take four points from their forays away from home, and Hignett is hoping that the fans will be similarly entertained as his side return home.

Having drawn 1-1 with Colchester United in the only home game of the season so far, Pools are keen to put on a show when Notts visit this weekend.

And Hignett hopes victory will be the start of a fine run of home form which could help secure the consistency he craves this season.

The manager has also issued a rallying call to the fans, urging them to make as much noise as possible to ensure that teams start to dread the journey north.

“The place when it’s packed is a great place to be,” he said.

“We want to make it tough for people to come here.

“We want them to think that they’ve come a long way and that they’ll be under pressure from the off.

“And that will be the message we send out.
