HARTLEPOOL United midfielder Brad Walker has been called up to a training camp with England Under 18s - for the second time this year.

The 17-year-old Pools midfield powerhouse will join the training camp early in the New Year.

Walker received his first call to join England’s junior set-up last month when he spent two days training at the FA’s National Football Centre, in Burton.

He impressed so much that he will return on Sunday, January 5 for another couple of days training with the cream of English teenage talent.

Pools boss Colin Cooper said: “It’s another big boost for Brad and a reward for the work he continues to put in.

“He thoroughly enjoyed being involved with the squad last time and I am sure he will go there more confident in his surroundings and eager to make an impression once again.

“Brad is a talented player and it’s great for our club that we have a player involved in the England junior set-up so we wish him all the best,” added Cooper, who was speaking to the club website.
