WIN at Bury tomorrow and the play-off dream is alive.

That is the message Neale Cooper will deliver to his men before sending them into battle against Richie Barker’s promotion rivals.

Just one point separates Pools and the Shakers and the pair are still within touching distance of the top six.

The momentum is with Cooper’s side – they are four unbeaten – and the Scottish boss has sounded another passionate rallying call on the eve of this key clash.

“If we have ambition to get to the play-offs – which we do – then we have to go and win at the likes of Bury to push ourselves up there,” said the man whose words seven days ago helped inspire the 4-0 win over Carlisle United when he called on the club’s fans to turn out in force for the derby date.

“You’ve got to set yourself targets.

“And I’ve said to the players, ‘to get to the play-offs you have to try and win each game’.

“If you keep that up then you don’t know what you can achieve.

“It’s a fine balance because the gulf of points is so narrow.

“But three points are so important if you’re to challenge – it makes a huge difference.”
