Hartlepool boss Neale Cooper ‘raging’ after defeat to Preston North End
DEAL ... Hartlepool boss Neale Cooper has been impressed by Samuel Adjei.
NEALE Cooper will today intensify his search for a new striker after leaving Preston in a “rage” last night.
Pools were beaten 1-0 by Graham Westley’s woeful North End, having failed to make their first-half superiority pay.
That profligacy – which saw eight clear-cut openings go begging – looks set to prompt a swift response from Cooper in the transfer market.
However, Brighton and Hove Albion forward George Barker will not be arriving at Victoria Park.
Rumours spread during last night’s game that the teenager was set to sign on loan, but Cooper told SportMail today: “He’s one of the names we have been interested in, but I’m told that’s off now.

“But I said in the changing room ‘if you can’t kill off teams, then we need to maybe look at players to come in’.
“We need someone to put the ball in the net.”
Read more of Cooper’s comments, plus Craig Hope’s full match report and more reaction to the Preston defeat, in today’s Sportmail.
