Hartlepool United’s James Brown shocked to end up losing against Preston North End

JAMES Brown was still taking his place on the visiting bench when Preston North End stole victory at Deepdale.
The 25-year-old had just made way after another highly-encouraging 75-minute display when the hosts, who had been under the cosh for the majority of the game, nicked the only goal.
It was Danny Mayor who rocketed home a 25-yard blast to snatch an undeserved three points for Graham Westley’s Lilywhites.
And it was a shell-shocked Brown who spoke to SportMail today.
“I didn’t even see their goal,” said the Northumberland-born forward.
“I just saw the ball hit the corner and thought ‘what’s going on here?’.
