RITCHIE Humphreys has been honoured with lifetime achievement award by the North-East’s Football Writers Association.
The Pools ace collected the award at last night’s annual FWA dinner at Ramside Hall Hotel in Durham, which was also attended by manager Neale Cooper and coach Micky Barron.
The tribute comes just weeks after Humphreys made his 500th appearance for Pools – a club record – and the 33-year-old admits he never tires of such accolades.
Humphreys said: “It’s an honour to accept this award, especially in a room with a lot of people I admire so much.
“I have enjoyed a fantastic year and a half since my testimonial was confirmed and every accolade has been gratefully received.
“This is no different but, again, without the support of my family and team-mates it would not be possible.
“I haven’t finished playing just yet and I’m still loving every minute of every game I play and long may that continue.”
