Nobby Solano attracts interest from Northern League South Shields
CHEEKY OFFER ... Nobby Solano.
NOBBY Solano is attracting interest from non-league minnows South Shields.
The Peruvian international is out of favour at Hartlepool United and that has alerted Shields boss Jon King, who hopes to attract the 36-year-old to Filtrona Park with a coaching and playing role.
King, who runs his own coaching business, is hoping to speak to Solano’s agent tonight to see if the midfielder would be interested in signing for the Northern League Division One club as well as working for him.
He said: “I was made aware of the possibility of Solano being available, and it’s certainly something I would be interested in.
“I know Nobby does a bit of coaching, and if he’s keen to stay involved in that, and keep playing football, then we could make him an offer.
“I’m hoping to speak to his agent later on tonight and we will see where we go with it.
“It may not happen, but it is worth looking into.”
