Norwegian would like to stay at Pools

SIDELINED Rune Lange remains interested in staying at Hartlepool United despite interest from two clubs on the continent.

The Norwegian's short-term contract at Victoria Park came to a close at the end of the season although Pools are still keen to take a further look at Lange during their pre-season friendlies.

Lange had made a positive start to his time at the club, making three appearances and scoring with a cool chip at MK Dons.

But the 32-year-old's season came to a premature end after suffering a shoulder injury against Leicester City, which will prevent Lange from taking part in physical contact until the end of July.

Pools could still offer Lange another short-term deal if he proves his fitness in pre-season and the former Club Brugge striker admits he would consider the option despite interest from two clubs in Belgium.

"Hartlepool are still in the picture and I haven't ruled them out," said Lange, when talking to the Norwegian press.

"I should know more and make a decision in July. Everything depends on whether or not my shoulder heals properly. I wouldn't sign a contract with any club until I'm fully fit.

"I have to let things sink in a bit and I'll go with my gut when I make a decision.

"What's very nice, is that even having been injured for all this time, clubs still want me."

Lange spoke to the two interested Belgian clubs at the weekend, with KSV Roseleare in pole position for his signature.

He said: "I met with Roeselare in person and talked on the phone to the other club.

"They were only conversations, but positive ones.

"They are interested in signing me if my shoulder heals properly, but we'll have to see what happens."
