Pools won't sacrifice style
DANNY Wilson insists Kevin Kyle's arrival at Victoria Park will not force Hartlepool United to sacrifice style for substance.
Kyle's arrival on loan from Coventry City has caused concern among some sections of the Pools supporters that Wilson's side will adopt a more direct approach rather than the eye-catching passing game into the feet of fellow strikers Joel Porter and James Brown.
But Wilson is adamant that Kyle will benefit more from Pools keeping the ball on the deck and whipping crosses into the box rather than using the 27-year-old's obvious height advantage.
Wilson said: "We can't change the way we play and we don't want to change it.
"I think it's a bit of fallacy to suggest that Kevin can only do one particular thing.
"He is quite an articulate footballer to be fair to him. He has got a decent touch, he can bring people into the game.
"You don't have to belt the ball at him just because he is a big unit.
"We don't want to lose all the good points we have got simply because we have added one player to the squad.
"He doesn't want that either. He doesn't want to be perceived as a one-trick pony."
